Navigation Console Activated

The interactive navigation console is now operational and accessible to all campaign personnel — both players and referees — without requiring system authentication. The console may be distributed to crew as a live tactical display.

Data presented to players is governed by the survey index recorded for each star system. Systems with incomplete or absent survey data will display accordingly; no information is disclosed beyond what the survey record supports.

Referee sessions receive full access to all charted data. In addition, the console highlights systems carrying confirmed native sophont populations or evidence of extinct sophont civilisations, permitting rapid identification of xenologically significant targets during mission planning.

Sophont Survey Indicators

The star system registry table and the orbital body survey table on the star system display now include sophont presence indicators alongside survey statistics. Systems and bodies with confirmed native sophont populations are marked with a native sophont glyph. Those with evidence of extinct sophont civilisations carry a corresponding extinction marker. Both indicators are sourced from biological survey data and require no additional operator input.

Moon Main World Designation

When the designated main world of a star system is a satellite body, the star system survey table now marks the parent body with the main world indicator. This allows the Referee to identify the relevant orbital body without navigating to the satellite registry. The procedural synthesis importer has been extended to support moon main world assignments, and the build configuration schema now accepts satellite main world specifications.

Moon Survey Records

The Astrogation Console now supports comprehensive display of satellite survey data. Moon records present physical parameters — diameter, mass, gravity, density — alongside environmental data including temperature, rotation, axial tilt, albedo, and greenhouse factor. Atmospheric and hydrographic classifications, biological survey indices, and social data are displayed where present in the survey record.

A satellite registry is appended to the survey display for each gas giant, terrestrial planet, and other body with catalogued moons. Each entry lists the satellite’s size code, orbital distance in planetary diameters, and Universal World Profile. If the satellite is the designated system main world, it is marked accordingly.

Planetoid Catalogue

A planetoid satellite catalogue has been added to the gas giant and planetoid belt survey displays. The catalogue lists individual planetoid bodies associated with the belt, including size classification and orbital parameters.

Collapsible Survey Sections

Satellite registries and planetoid catalogues on body survey records may now be collapsed to conserve display space. The section header displays a count of catalogued entries. A filter control permits operators to restrict the satellite registry to significant bodies only.

Jump Shadow Orbital Display

The orbital transit diagram now renders the jump shadow boundary for each stellar body in the system. The exclusion zone is calibrated to each star’s computed jump shadow radius. Bodies within a stellar jump shadow are visually distinguished from those in clear space, providing the operator with an immediate assessment of safe jump emergence points.

Planetoid Import Refinements

The procedural synthesis importer now correctly assigns orbital sequence identifiers to planetoid bodies and moons generated as satellite entries.

Main World Designation Console

The star system survey display now identifies the designated main world and presents its Universal World Profile alongside the other primary survey parameters. An inline edit control permits the operator to reassign the main world designation to any catalogued body in the system that carries a valid UWP.

Base Registry Editor

Assigned base codes for a star system are now displayed in the primary survey header alongside the main world UWP. An edit interface allows the operator to add or remove base designations from the full facility registry.

Stellar Classification Parameter Autofill

The stellar data core editor now queries the onboard synthesis engine whenever the operator modifies a star’s spectral type, subtype, or luminosity class. Derived physical parameters — mass, diameter, effective temperature, luminosity, estimated age, minimum allowable orbit, habitable zone central orbit, and chromatic classification — are automatically populated from the engine response. All autofilled values remain fully editable and may be overridden at operator discretion.

Planetary Size Classification Selector

The terrestrial planet size code field has been upgraded from a manual numeric entry to a classification selector displaying size codes 1–F with corresponding average diameters per standard IISS planetary survey tables. Selecting a size code automatically populates the diameter field with the catalogue average for that classification. The diameter remains operator-adjustable for fine calibration.

Planetary Mass and Gravity Auto-Computation

Modifications to a terrestrial planet’s diameter or density now trigger automatic recalculation of surface gravity and planetary mass. Gravity is derived from the density–diameter ratio relative to standard Terra, and mass from the cubic ratio. These computed values are pre-filled in their respective fields but remain editable should the operator require manual override.

2026.046

Stellar Data Core Editor

Individual star records may now be modified via a dedicated data core edit interface. The edit interface is accessible from both the star survey display and the stars registry table within the parent system view.

Terrestrial Planet Data Core Enhancements

The terrestrial planet data core editor has been extended with environmental and physical survey fields. Atmospheric classification codes (0–H, extended hex) and atmospheric composition may now be recorded via the edit interface. Hydrographic coverage codes (0–A), predominant surface liquid type, and liquid distribution patterns are likewise editable. A planetary size code field has been added to the physical data section.

Rogue Registration Console

The rogue stellar object registration form has been refitted to conform with standard console interface conventions. Field presentation, error reporting, and layout now match the patterns established across all other data core edit interfaces. A redirect fault that could deposit the operator at an unrelated survey record after successful registration has been corrected.

Orbital Sequence Recalibration

Deletion of a stellar body, secondary star, or companion star now triggers automatic recalibration of orbital sequence designators for all remaining bodies in the parent system.

Star Orbiting Bodies Registry

The orbiting bodies table on the star survey display now includes operational controls for editing and deleting individual bodies, matching the interface established on the parent star system view. A UWP column has been added, displaying the Universal World Profile for terrestrial planets and the size code for gas giants.

Transit Diagram Viewport Correction

The star system transit diagram now maintains its native dimensions and provides a horizontal scroll region when the diagram exceeds the available console width. A prior rendering fault caused the diagram to compress into the viewport, distorting orbital spacing at higher zoom levels.

Rogue Registry Display Correction

The rogue stellar object table no longer renders a navigational reference in the name column for objects that have not been assigned a designation. Unnamed objects now display a blank name field as expected.

2026.045

Planetoid Belt Data Core Editor

The planetoid belt survey record now supports field-level modification via the standard data core edit interface. Operators may adjust orbital parameters, belt composition ratios, resource rating, bulk mass, and span values directly from the survey display.

Orbital Transit Diagram

The star system survey display now renders an orbital transit diagram depicting the spatial hierarchy of all catalogued bodies within the system. Selecting any body on the diagram navigates directly to its survey record.

Standalone Cartographic Export

Star system transit diagrams may now be retrieved as standalone imagery independent of the survey console interface. The export subsystem supports SVG vector output and WebP raster encoding. Standalone renders are suitable for inclusion in external briefing documents and operational planning materials.

Degenerate Stellar Classification Support

The Star System Registration Console now accepts Brown Dwarf (BD) and White Dwarf (D) designations when configuring primary or companion stellar bodies.

Survey Index Telemetry

Star system records now carry a survey index value transmitted by the procedural synthesis engine at time of generation. This datum is persisted alongside existing system parameters and will be available for future cataloguing and cross-reference operations.

Low-Magnitude Stellar Readout Correction

The numeric formatting subsystem has been recalibrated to prevent near-zero stellar measurements from collapsing to a null display. Luminosity, habitable zone central orbit, and companion orbital distance readings that previously truncated to 0.00 now render with significant- digit precision, ensuring that faint companions and tight orbits remain legible on the survey display.

2026.044

Atmospheric & Hydrographic Sensor Calibration

The long-range planetary survey array has been recalibrated to improve resolution of atmospheric composition and hydrographic surface coverage. The spectroscopic analysis firmware now discriminates between trace, thin, standard, and dense atmospheric envelopes with greater precision, and the orbital imaging subsystem produces refined estimates of surface liquid distribution, including coverage percentages and predominant fluid types.

These improvements apply to all newly generated planetary bodies. Survey records committed prior to this calibration cycle are not affected and retain their original sensor readings. Operators wishing to update existing records must re-survey the body using current instrumentation.
