T5 Tab Delimited Ingestion

The build default apparatus accepts a third data source: a T5 Tab Delimited file, fed directly into the console by the operator rather than drawn down from an external relay. Presented with a whole-sector file, the apparatus distributes the resulting build specifications across the sixteen subsector stations automatically; presented with a file at the subsector station itself, only the rows falling within that station’s own hexes are consulted. The uploaded file supersedes any build plan already entered, with the survey index setting alone still honoured from the Settled Space control on the sector register. At the point of sector creation, an uploaded file is folded directly into the initial generation run for each subsector.

Rulebook Catalogue Filtering

The Library register gains a category selector alongside its existing search field.

Commerce Console

A unified Commerce console now handles the generation of trade and traffic between two star systems. An operator designates an origin and a destination once, then switches freely between four terminals — Passage, Freight, Mail, and Speculative Trade — each retaining its own inputs and results independently. Where the two systems lie close enough together, a chart of the intervening route is displayed alongside the terminals. The console is reachable from any starport record, and directly from the stellar cartography toolbar for systems already under inspection.

The Passage terminal issues a departure board listing Low, Basic, Middle, and High passage classes, each card reporting the number of passengers secured, the governing die modifier, and every contributing factor behind it. The Freight terminal produces a cargo manifest of Incidental, Minor, and Major lots, with tonnage and modifier breakdowns shown in the same manner. The Mail terminal determines whether the postal service has entrusted the vessel with containers for the route, and on how many, weighing armament, rank, and social standing as required.

The Speculative Trade terminal surveys the origin world’s markets and returns a manifest of goods on offer, complete with category, tonnage, and base price; a Re-Survey control mints a fresh manifest on demand. Purchase and sale prices may be negotiated for the full manifest in a single pass, with skill effect and counterpart broker skill entered directly, or a local broker engaged in their place at a configurable level and fee. Illegal goods and exotic finds are generated and priced alongside the rest, left to the referee’s judgement on matters of legality and supply. Default die modifiers for all four terminals may be set campaign-wide from the Campaign Settings register.

Trade Goods Base Prices

The Data Cores register gains a Trade Goods terminal, through which a referee may override the base price of any speculative trade good used by the Commerce console’s Speculative Trade terminal. Availability, tonnage, and the purchase and sale die modifiers for each good remain fixed sourcebook data; only the base price itself is subject to campaign override.

Lexicon Retrieval Terminal

The console now interrogates the ship’s library banks directly. An operator keys in a term — a rule, a piece of equipment, a scrap of jargon — and the terminal returns a ranked manifest of matching volumes, complete with printed page reference and an illuminated excerpt of the surrounding text. The manifest may be narrowed by volume, edition, category, or a minimum relevance threshold. A referee’s console draws upon every volume the campaign has stocked in its library; a player console is restricted to the subset the referee has cleared for general access. The terminal is also reachable directly from the starmap console’s toolbar.

Transit Time Registers

The route plotting terminal now computes transit duration for every waypoint along a charted course — the interval required to travel between a world’s surface and the safe jump distance beyond it. Console operators select the vessel’s manoeuvre drive rating, and each estimate adjusts accordingly. Every waypoint carries a running elapsed-time figure, and the completed course record itemises total jump duration, total transit duration, and their combination, each rendered together with a probable margin of error.

2026.201

City Registry

Worlds and moons bearing population now maintain a Cities register. Each entry records a city’s name, population, and, where applicable, its construction type, and capital designation.

Census Figures

Where an exact census return exists for a world’s population, the Population panel now displays that figure directly in place of the customary approximate range.

Stellar Orbit Chart

Invoking the analysis record for a star now opens a dedicated orbit chart. The chart presents the star’s immediate retinue — companion star, planets, gas giants, and belts — arranged radially about the star. Any charted body may be selected directly from the diagram to open its own analysis record.

Survey Overlay Console

The cartographic display now supports a Survey Overlay function, permitting operators to define colour-coded rules governing hex illumination across the chart. Each rule evaluates conditions drawn from the operator’s survey holdings, combining them through configurable logical grouping, with any condition subject to inversion at the operator’s discretion.

Overlay Precedence Sequencing

Where the chart’s illumination rules yield conflicting results for a single hex, operators may now establish precedence by resequencing the rule listing. The foremost rule in the sequence governs; adjustment controls are provided to advance or recede any rule’s standing.

2026.181

Daily Traffic Assessment Terminal

Operators may now interface directly with a world’s starport traffic control systems to obtain an immediate assessment of arriving vessels. Upon establishing the connection, the terminal queries local port records and returns the expected traffic volume for the standard cycle.

Sector Registration: Settlement Classification Directive

When filing a new blank sector with the IISS Registry, operators may now apply a settlement classification to the sector prior to commitment.

Sectors designated as settled space are provisioned with a standard populated build specification and a survey index of 10, indicating full data availability on crew-accessible charts. Sectors designated as exploration space receive a minimal build specification and a survey index of 3, consistent with regions not yet formally entered in the Grand Survey.

The applicable classification is inferred from the active campaign type and may be overridden by the registering operator before the sector record is committed to the registry.

IISS Survey Record Re-Processing

Survey operators may now submit a terrestrial planet or planetoid belt record for re-processing against its Universal World Profile. Upon invocation, the Imperial Grand Survey data core recomputes the full characteristic profile from the recorded UWP and orbital parameters, superseding all previously filed survey data. This procedure is indicated where field corrections have been applied to the UWP or where initial survey data is considered provisional.
