Subsector Build Plan
- Last Survey
- Counts of star systems and rogue stellar objects currently present in the subsector. These will be replaced when Generate is confirmed.
- Build Plan
- YAML configuration controlling density, stellar composition, and fixed hex placements for the generated survey. See the build specification reference for all available options.
- Derive Build from Survey

The Derive Build from Survey button creates a build configuration that matches the existing sector data. This is useful when you want to generate a new version of the subsector but ensure that the same hexes have star systems and rogue objects.
The derived build configuration preserves the structural outline of the subsector. It keeps:
- which hexes contain star systems
- the star types and the types of stellar bodies orbiting the stars
- the UWP for terrestrial planets
- the UWP for planetoid belts
- the size of gas giants
- which hexes contain rogue objects
- the types of rogue objects
- the names of objects
Data that may change when generating the subsector will be the specific details about objects. For example, the atmospheric composition may be different, the number of moons or planetoids may change.
- Generate
- Click this button to generate a new subsector survey using the configuration. Any existing star systems or rogue objects will be deleted.
- Sector Grid
- The map of subsectors in this sector. You can click on a subsector to view its survey record.
