Every rulebook has a page offset that maps PDF page indices to printed page numbers by simple subtraction — see the Rulebooks reference. Not every page fits that offset cleanly: covers, inserted maps, blank pages, and renumbered sections all need manual handling. This page mapping table lets you spot-check and correct pages individually. Administrator access only.
Mapping Table
- PDF Page
- The page's position in the source PDF.
- Default Printed Page
- The printed page number the rulebook's offset would produce for this page, before any override.
- Override
- Shows a badge if this page has an explicit override or is marked unnumbered; otherwise blank, meaning the default printed page applies.
- Effective Printed Page
- The page number actually shown to searchers — the override if set, Unnumbered page if marked as such, otherwise the default printed page.
- Heading
- The heading detected on the page during extraction, if any.

Correcting a Page
- Heading
- Overrides the heading detected during extraction.
- Printed Page Override
- A specific printed page number for this page, independent of the rulebook's offset. Use this where the offset gets a page wrong — an inserted map, a renumbered section.
- Unnumbered
- Marks the page as having no real printed page number — a cover, a blank page, or similar. Unnumbered pages show as Unnumbered page in search results instead of a number.
A page can have a printed page override or be marked unnumbered, never both — the form and the database both enforce this.
Extracted Text
The raw text pulled from the PDF and the normalised text actually indexed for search are shown side by side, for diagnosing why a page does or doesn't match a query. If extraction picked up unwanted repeated headers, footers, or watermarks, fix that with Header/Footer Patterns on the rulebook itself, then rebuild search vectors — no need to reimport.
