Course Plot
Plots a jump route between two star systems using the same pathfinding the referee's ship would follow, honouring jump range, fuel availability, and any excluded travel zones. See Core Rulebook, p. 157 for the jump mechanics this planner models.
- From / To
- Origin and destination star systems, chosen by search. When opened from a star system or stellar object's show page, From defaults to that system — this can still be changed.
- Ship
- Optional. Selecting a ship fills in its jump drive rating and manoeuvre drive rating as the Jump Range and M-Drive below. Changing either field manually clears the ship selection.
- Jump Range
- The maximum jump-N the ship can make in a single hop (1–6). No hop in the plotted route will exceed this distance.
- M-Drive
- The ship's manoeuvre drive rating, used to estimate in-system transit time to and from the jump point at each hop.
- Refuelling
- Restricts which systems may be used as refuelling stops along the route:
- Any
- No fuel restriction — commercial, wilderness, and refined sources all qualify.
- No wilderness (D+ starport)
- Only systems with a class D starport or better qualify; wilderness refuelling stops are excluded.
- Wilderness only (gas giant)
- Only systems offering wilderness refuelling (gas giant skimming) qualify.
- Refined fuel only (A/B starport)
- Only systems with a class A or B starport qualify, guaranteeing refined fuel.
- Exclude Travel Zones
- Travel zones checked here are avoided entirely — no hop in the route will pass through a system flagged with an excluded zone.
Results
Plotting the route shows the hop-by-hop path with jump distance, transit time, and cumulative elapsed time for each leg, along with totals for the whole journey. If no route satisfies the chosen jump range, refuelling, and travel zone constraints, no route is found — try a higher jump range or relaxing the other filters.
- Save to map
- Commits the plotted route as a jump route on the starmap, named and coloured as entered. The route is created with type plotted, meaning it stores the origin, destination, and filters used, and can be recalculated later from the jump route's edit page.
- Plan another route
- Starts a new plot from the same origin system, carrying forward the jump range, refuelling, M-Drive, and travel zone exclusions just used.
