Gas Giant
Displays the survey record for a gas giant. Data is presented in fixed sections covering orbital mechanics, physical characteristics, transit times, and the satellite inventory. Orbital Data is omitted for rogue gas giants not attached to a stellar primary.
Orbital Data
- Orbit / AU
- Orbital radius expressed as orbit number and/or astronomical units, per campaign display settings.
- Period
- Time to complete one orbit around the primary star.
- Effective HZCO Deviation
- Deviation from the habitable zone centre orbit.
- Inclination / Eccentricity
- Orbital plane inclination in degrees and orbital eccentricity (0 = circular).
- Jump Shadow
- Effective jump shadow extent in km, shown when the shadow exceeds the body's own contribution. The shadow source is identified where it originates from a parent star rather than the giant itself.
Physical Data
- Diameter
- Surface diameter in kilometres.
- Mass
- Planetary mass in Earth masses (☉).
- Rotation
- Sidereal rotation period in hours.
- Size
- Size classification code (Small, Medium, or Large).
Transit Times
Standard transit durations to and from the body's jump shadow boundary, based on 1g and 2g constant-acceleration profiles.
Moons
Paginated list of satellites in orbital order. Toggle Significant only to suppress sub-kilometre bodies.
